Getting Traffic To A Squidoo Lens

When it comes to getting traffic to your Squidoo lenses there is only ever one place that I go to get help and advice – the Squidoo Queen!  Not only does she offer up some great help and advice, she’s always on hand to help out when things don’t go quite as well as you hoped.

Not long ago I created a few Squidoo lenses and to say that they didn’t do too well was a bit of an understatment!  I should have been reading How To Get Traffic To Your Squidoo Lens from the start and then the problems would have been fewer than they were.

There is also a new course on the way – get in now before it goes up www.SquidooFormula.net

Squidoo Marketing Still Powerful?

After spending an HUGE amount of time going through Kelly Stone’s Blog I have decided to focus part of my marketing time on Squidoo to see how well it still works.  I do feel sorry for Kelly and I did send her a thank you via Paypal today for the time she put in with me!  Not only has she taken the time to view my niche, give me some (obvious) advice on where it could be improved, but she has also shown me some great methods of increasing traffic and converting it to sales.

I’ve also jumped in and got myself a copy of Squidoo Queen (one of Kelly’s products) and will start to work my way through that.  I have to say that even though I have been marketing for a few years now and thought that I had seen most things, this social marketing is turning out to be both exciting and refreshing!  I’m looking forward to sitting at my computer again and find the process quite easy once you know what you are doing.

You can see that Kelly is still using Squidoo herself.  Her lensmaster page is here.  Her Squidoo Queen lens is here.  It’s well worth looking at her lenses as they have some great information in there for getting started.  I wanted to get the ebook so that I had a clear plan of action to follow.  I’ll be keeping you updated on how things go.

Social Marketing Results Showing

I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few months working on building up my niche sites using social marketing.  Although I hate to admit it, my efforts seemed to be a waste of time as I had no sales to show for it and not much else happening.  A friend of mine recommended that I get in touch with a lady called Kelly Stone (you can find her at Kelly Stone Marketing).

Once I actually spent the time learning to follow advice and not doing what I thought I should be doing, I have to say that results did start to show.  I’m NOT talking thousands in sales within 2 hours.  I am talking about a steady flow of subscribers within my niche market.  Tracking the results takes a little time but I can easily see now that my subscribers are increasing by almost 100+ each week.

The one thing that really stood out for me was that some of the sites that I thought I should be using were outdated, over used and a complete waste of time.  I really would suggest that anyone who is thinking of using social marketing sites take a look at the free list of social media sites that Kelly Stone recommends.

As more develops and the results become clear, I’ll let you know.

Understanding The Basics

When it comes to understanding the basics of online marketing it seems that most of the so called Guru’s out there don’t have a clue.  I’m not here to bash anyone – seriously, but I think we all know our fair-share of marketers who could have done a little more to help us out when we needed it, answered our support desk tickets or just told us when the material they were promoting sucked!

Loads of us know people like that and its frustrating to say the least, no one talks about it though because in our friendly little marketing forums there are still die-hard fans just waiting to rip you to shreds if you dared to mention their ‘mentors’ name in a negative light.

As freedom of speech on the net is also under fire, most of us mere-mortals wouldn’t dare to say what we thought in case we got a legal case dropped on us.  So how can we find out which marketers are worth following?

My suggestion is to look for the ones who just skim the line between expert and guru.  These are the ones that hardly ever get spoken about if they don’t make their living off the back of forum marketing.   They are the ones that have products out there that you don’t see getting bashed all the time, they are the ones who are willing to go that extra mile to help you out.

Hopefully you’ll take a look over the next few weeks at some of my suggestions here and get a good idea of who you should getting the basics from.
